We are meeting today at a really "rare gem" as Thomas describes it. Shane Gottwals of Gottwals Books hosted our book club today in the top floor of the coffee shop. We enjoyed leisurely afternoon of talking, laughing, and talking about the wonderful Summer Fun read "Savannah Breeze" by Mary Kay Andrews.

Our next meeting will be Saturday, August 18 , 2012. We have decided to meet here again as this is a perfect place to meet and discuss the books and relax. Our members can come between 1:00 and 1:30, we hope to start at 2 pm as The Coffee Shop on Carroll closes at 4 pm on Saturday.

The Coffee Shop on Carroll in Perry, Georgia is part of the revitalized downtown. It has a modern but old world feel to it. The drinks are great, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the people vary in age. This is the reason why we have chosen to start meeting here on a regular basis.



Our next book is "The Book Thief" by Marcus Zusak. Gottwals Books in Perry said that they usually have this book but are currently out of stock at all locations. They can order it for members for $9.00 a piece. The other option is for us to email weekly and inquire if the book is available at any locations. We have opted to email weekly. If you want to take advantage of them ordering for you, just call and let them know you are a Middle Georgia Book Club member.
